Prologue
Miribor was a vast desert covered in dry sand and dust. It was devoid of light, water, or any form of life. Everything was flat except for a huge tower of polished moonstone that rose majestically, reflecting a white light visible from anywhere on the planet.
The cosmic beings were then sent to serve their penance on Miribor, walking on the dry, cold earth until the end of their sentence. Their skin was as cold and clear as porcelain, and the various parts of their bodies floated above one another as if under their own gravity. These beings walked the world as empty souls, destined to carry their burdens for a thousand years, until one day they would be freed.
And one day they were...
After a thousand years of living in misery, the cosmic beings received redemption, sent from the Universe to Miribor in the form of energy—an energy contained in a small being, capable of giving life to the barren planet.
In a crater at the center of the planet stood the First Sun, symbolizing the end of the Cosmics' penance. They called him Rathir (pronounced Rafir) – the one who rises like the sun, the Son of Light. Rathir continued his journey to the tower, where he knew he must sacrifice himself to bring life to the world.
Once drained of the energy he carried within, the world would survive in light for a thousand years until the energy dissipated into the Universe and, in this form, would be sent back to Miribor in the form of another Sun.
And so it was done...
The energy trapped in Rathir spread throughout the world, bringing life. Many trees grew, and water gushed from the dry sand, transforming it into new, fertile land. The Cosmics were then able to build cities, raise animals, and live in peace for a millennium. Other suns came, all fulfilling their destiny, giving energy to the world and sustaining life. However, at the end of the seventh millennium after Rathir, a Sun appeared. They called him Cecil. He was guided, like the other suns, to the tower. However, at the moment of his sacrifice, he was overcome by fear. He fled to the edge of Miribor, where he used his energy to create a great black wall and hid within it.
Fear and selfishness took hold of his heart, and he contained the energy within himself, being corrupted by it from within. His body became disgusting. He tied chains around his body to contain the power that surged within him and isolated himself in his own refuge.
For lack of sacrifice, the city fell into ruins, everything that had been built collapsed, and Miribor once again became a desert of dry sand, remnants of the world that had once existed. The cosmic beings were disfigured by the lack of energy, their porcelain bodies taking on a molten appearance like a melted candle. They returned to wandering the world aimlessly, awaiting the end of the millennium when another Sun would return.
Cecíl remained isolated, harboring selfishness and fear within himself, knowing that if the new Sun ever sacrificed itself for Miribor, he too would be destroyed. He would do anything to prevent that from happening.
